A Rest.

I decided to put this site in a hiatus for two weeks to a month. I have been thinking lately and realized that i rush into things often upon seeing opportunites. I actually put up 3 blogs and closed one. I realized that i have been doing so many things that are not so beneficial. The bad part is, they keep me away from my focus. Now, i will try to focus on my other site. And when everything's fine there, i will revive this site. Thanks for everyone who visits this site. Thank to my new found friends and for my entrecard advertisers. Thank You Lord.

My Hands on Cold Porcelain Clay

Before anything else, someone gave me a Blogging Friends Forever Gold Card, my new online pal --> Kittykat, give her blog some love. :)

Another one i tried to do is Cold Porcelain Clay. When we were at the grocery store, i bought some cornstarch, glue and food color to make some cold porcelain clay. I was inspired by many examples I had seen in the internet. And it is also easy and less expensive to do. So when i got home and waited after a few hours, i excitedly mixed together a portion of glue and flour (later i found out that i bought flour and not cornstarch) until i came up with a clay like mass.

After forming a good clay, it was time to put in the color. If you want to do this, you must first decide what you are going to form, I actually had a hard time thinking about that. But a good design is the foundation of a good poduct. I decided to have this flower design. Wow, flower, it's so original and mature-ish, not kinder-ish. Three colors: blue circle background, pink/white petals and yellow center. I let it dry for some days. When it was dry, it was like a stone, so hard.

I really regret that i did not take any picture of the finished product before it was ruined. That was because i did not expect that some beings will actually be interested in making my hardened clay as their midnight snack. There were small mice roaming around our house and they liked my product. Day by day, i saw that the clay was getting smaller and i had no doubt it was them. My poor first porcelain clay. Just search in the internet for nicer pictures of cold porcelain clay.

I just found a nice porcelain clay tutorial.

My Food.

I am always attracted to food pictures in blogs. Yes, really, i appreciate blogs that have yummy food pictures in them. I also wanted to learn how to cook or bake. But up to now, i'm still no good to cooking. Anyway, i've taken the pictures of what i've been consuming in the past weeks. They are not so good, i think i might search for “how to take pictures of foods” next time. Forget it, you! Yummy food will always look in any angle. Contradicting myself again. Anyway...you can give me some tips. Here they are, just forgive my lack of describing power.

The first is called champorado this is basically rice plus chocolate and some milk. The chocolate used here is from a powdered chocolate drink.

Okay, next one is calderetang manok yes, that's chicken. But that one actually tastes like chicken curry because there is no coconut ingredient, how do you call that in english, gata?

The next one is a drink. My mother's church friend gave us some bags of herbal tea. I knew i wouldn't be hurt if i try it. ...I don't know, i think, i still like the iced tea better. Oh, this is called tsaa pronounced as cha-ah in Filipino.

My Aunt's family is selling lugaw in their little store so we bought some. I really like the taste of this. It is actually sweet. Haha, that's half-consumed already.

Finally, i asked my mother what's this called. She said it is called batchoy but I'm still doubting. It is a soup with noodles, with a little chicken and vegetables.

My Sewing Stuff

From elementary and high school days in Home Economics subjects, I became familiar with sewing materials. Everything was explained back then and I gave little attention. I remembered when I was in year high school when we had a project where in we had to sew our own shorts. I didn’t even buy my own fabric, my mother did. She then gave the fabric (together with a sample shorts of mine) to our neighbor which is a dressmaker. And then after the shorts’ done, I submitted it to our teacher. It was a good thing that she understood us because we really did not have hearts for dressmaking back then.

But years passed and I found myself wanting to do something different than what everyone’s in to. Watching arts and crafts television shows really attracted me to make my own stuff. The biggest influence that got me in sewing is -- plushies. I found the plushies in deviantart some years back. But due to my schooling I was not be able to start the craft. Now, that I’m finished with school. I started to gather the basic materials for this craft.

What I like about sewing is it is not really expensive. But it really requires time. If you think dressmakers are all hands, you’re mistaken. In sewing you really have to use your head too. That’s why beginners who does not think or plan well will end up either laughing or being disappointed because of the mistakes. Well, for me, I’m just a beginner, that’s why, I can relate now.

What I also like are the fabric designs. I want to collect different fabrics and soon high quality ones from different places. It’s a dream.

A Gift.

Hello. this is the second post. I have decided to make use of this blog as a arts/crafts/sewing/lifestyle blog. Basically anything about my hobbies and likes. I intended to save that topic after i buy my own domain (soon, i hope so). But I just wanted to start already. In my other blog, i'm blogging about games, anime and tech stuff. I just want to blog other things that I like, my traditional creative side.

So, what to feature here? I just want to share that my dream of having a sewing machine was finally fulfilled. It was a small, light-weight, portable one for home-use. I was not too excited when we bought this. Don't know why. Hmmm, but I'm really thankful to God. Now, I can make my own bags and wallets and other stuff.

I've realized that having a sewing machine is not really easy. You still have to set up things. Do some blending, just like a guitar. This mechanical system just reminded me about my college years (just months ago) where I have to solve mechanical problems. I'm thankful that i'm done with those solvings.

That ends my second post. I hope I can finish a sewing project soon and post it here.
